Essence of Harris, based in Tarbert, opened a new outlet in Aberdeen airport on Monday August 12th following the success of its Inverness Airport store.

They say: "We are thrilled to be opening our latest Essence of Harris store, located in the Departures Lounge at Aberdeen Airport.

"Not only does this allow us to showcase our range of Scottish products to all of you based on the East Coast, but it also grants us the opportunity to employ four new wonderful members of staff into the team, who will tell the Essence of Harris story to everyone travelling through Aberdeen.

"The product range on display includes our bath and body collections, candles and home fragrance and our lambswool Essence of Harris tartan scarves; the perfect range to stock up on before you jet off to far-flung places.

"This new store gifts customers the chance to take a unique scent and memorable experience home with them on their travels, ensuring that you all have a relaxing and unforgettable journey."

The opening is the latest development in Aberdeen International’s £20 million terminal transformation project, which aims to create opportunities for both independent and group retailers.

Essence of Harris Managing Director Jamie McGowan said: “As a growing Scottish brand, we are always eager to take our Hebridean products to consumers near and far, and to be in an international hub like Aberdeen Airport was an opportunity we were delighted to accept.

“The newly renovated airport is looking great and being able to showcase our products to people from the North East and all over the world travelling through Aberdeen makes a lot of sense.”

Aberdeen International Airport Retail Coordinator Emma Small said: “It’s wonderful to have Essence of Harris on board here. It’s the first time we’ve worked with a Scottish independent company like this and really adds to the mix of what’s on offer to passengers at the airport."
